Happy birthday to me!

Last Monday it was my birthday. For a few months now I have been keeping a list of fav things on Folksy and Etsy of things I would like from J and L. The week before my birthday I decided that I would look through the (rather extensive) list of lovely-ness and pick something.

I have loved this Summer Pudding bracelet for months and the colours are lovely but I am a practical girl and don't wear much jewellery (although I feel this is changing!) and I had visions of getting bits stuck in my sewing machine or lost at the bottom of the garden so I decided that the necklace would be great from J and L.

Being Miss Indesisive, I couldn't decide on the colour so I messaged Ruby (not her real name but that's what I call her ;) ) and she sent me some beads so that I could make my mind up then when I had, she posted my necklace out really quickly, all gift-wrapped and beautifully made and with another pressie for me...which was handy because J and L decided, when they opened the envelope, that they had a present each to give to me and Ruby and Dig (also not his name ;) ) also sent me a card...Dig makes the cards here and they are ace.

While I am paying homage to the amazing Ruby and Dig, did I mention that they also have a supplies shop to tempt you to make your own wonderful creations? Since they spend lots of their time on Twitter almost tempting me to buy beads that I will never use but really *need*, I will tempt you ;)

And I am fairly sure they are converting a funky workshop/shed in the bottom of their garden to do more work which I am obviously jealous of..unless I have just dreamed that up. If not, maybe I could move in there when I run away? Anyway, they are lovely, helpful, friendly people so go and have a look at their shops :)

Lovely stuff! I'm also a bit hesitant on the jewellery wearing (I tend to wear one thing non-stop) but I'd love to build my collection. Maybe asking for something I specifically want is the way forward?

Choosing yourself is the way ahead Amanda then you don't get a desk lamp for your birthday....yes really, I have had that in the past!

I agree I chose my own presents. This also has the down side of not having a surprise. Any way Happy Birthday hope you had a lovely day to yourself, doing what you wanted.
