First good intentions of 2011

While thinking about what I wanted to achieve in 2011, more family time out and about was high on that list. With two children who (normally!) play really well together, it is all too easy to stay at home and bumble around.

Lou is still being an insomniac so this weekend, I thought lots of exercise and fresh air might make her sleep so since the end of school on Friday, they have been swimming twice, had a tennis lesson, been to play at the village tennis courts and been for a bike ride. She is still awake while we are ready for our beds!

While J and L threw themselves around the tennis court with their Dad, I finally got to take some photos of the first of my larger project bags. You will have to excuse the photographs; even thought the sun was shining here today, it is still dull, dull, dull!

Now, lots of people have been asking me to make bigger drawstring bags for a while and I have been doing custom orders but not got any made for stock but finally they are here and more will be coming along during the week. Let me know if you have any specific requests and I will do them first.

I took photos of the bag with a standard sized bag to show the difference in size and this photo shows the bag with my crochet granny squares in it, all 10 of them with a ball of yarn and it isn't even half full so you could fit loads of knitting in here!

Here they are in my shop.

Newsletter sign-ups are going well and I am in the process of writing my first newsletter. Exciting, huh?

I have an insomniac for a daughter too!

She is still awake at 9.45 on a Sunday evening. We are worn out!

I bet the new bags fly out the shop. I made myself a similar size and shape bag and I love how it works with circus. I managed a decent sized sweater (rammed in) in mine. Which reminds me, I need to make another. Why are there never enough project bags in my house?

Big project bags, fantastic! I've tried putting bigger projects in calico 'bags for life' but the needles always slide out!

Oh oh oh... might need to buy...!

Re Lou - grrr. A is back into a better sleep pattern (school restarting helped a bit), but he goes in phases.
Have you tried a bit of light therapy with Lou - to reset her body clock a bit?
Another thing we do with A, is a bit of relaxation stuff - squeezing, then relaxing all the different muscle groups... K found a recording of someone talking through the process and the kids listen to it each night after lights out.
Oh, and we've also slightly altered their bedtime routine.
Just some thoughts, in case any might be of use... xx
