The Pintrest Challenge. The one where I make stuff out of scraps..

I was quietly minding my own business last night, reading blogs, while I waited for Mr Nicsknots to come home and I came across this post from the lovely Sew Scrumptious.  I scrolled down her post umm-ing and ahh-ing at all of the funky things, some that I have already 'pinned' on Pintrest to make one day.....

I made a cup of tea and Mr N was still not home and by which time Louise from Sew Scrumptious had messaged me on my blog, tempting me to join in the fun so it is Mr Nicsknots who I blame for me joining in The Pintrest Challenge; if he had spent less time cavorting with his students and dilly-dallying on his way home, I would have been in my bed, not being tempted.

Basically the idea is that you choose one (of the millions ) of the things you have pinned to make once a month then you blog about it.  Now, Kitschy Coo blogged a while back about attempting to recreate things she had seen on Pintrest and I must admit, I think my efforts might be more like she has suggested than the fab results of Sew Scrumptious but we will see.

Today I bring you 'How to 15 minutes fabric.'

I have loads of scraps of fabric and go through phases of giving them away to pre-school and school but some of them I want to keep but I never know what to do with them.

Over the last few months I have been saving certain types of fabric, thinking that one day I will make some scrappy quilts. When I saw this scrappy fabric, I thought I would give it a go with all of the Dr Who fabric I have saved to make a quilt for J.

First I collected all of the scraps.....

Then I just started sewing them all together.....

I want to make it bigger so I will leave it like this for the moment, until I have collected some more scraps.

Yey!! Didn't know I was so persuasive!! So glad you joined in. Loving the idea of a scrappy quilt. I've got loads of old scraps so I might have to try that. Also loving the Dr Who fabric! Cant believe you did it all so quickly either!

What a brilliant idea. I love the idea of just adding to it over time. A real heirloom piece, with lots of memories of the different patterns
