Windy WIP Wednesday...

It's Wednesday again. The week is whizzing by! We have had days and days of rain here in hosepipe ban, drought suffering Lincolnshire. The garden resembles a bog and the children are wild because they have been cooped up inside all day at school for *another* wet playtime so today, when a strange yellow thing is shining on us and we don't need to put our wellies on to go to school, I got a bit excited.

I have a new bag design that I am thinking of releasing so I thought I would go outside and take photos of it.   The only problem is that it is blowing a gale so the only photo I have that is half-way decent is this......

One of the ladies who comes to my Thursday morning sewing classes wanted to make a bag she could take on her holidays so we sketched a pattern and she got cutting out and sewing....the fabric she has chosen is fab, sandy colours and sea blue stripes, perfect for a summer beach bag. I can't wait to see it finished.  Another lady who started coming to the class decided that she would like to make a project bag in a similar shape but smaller so I went home with the promise that I would come back the following week with a pattern and bag and this is what I came up with.

It is an ideal bag for someone who can sew and wants a project to practise their new found (or long forgotten, as is more often the case) skills.  It is a basic shape, lined and with heavy interfacing to give it the shape and with only four pattern pieces, it doesn't take forever to cut out.

Although it is small, you can fit loads in it; I took it to knit night on Thursday and I had my phone, wallet, four balls of cotton, a half finished toddler hat, another ball of yarn, my notions purse and there was still space!  A fab project bag in my mind so I am thinking I will make it in this size then a larger one. What do you think?

Anyway, back to WIP Wednesday..I started crocheting a ripple cushion cover on Thursday. I've not got very far but I am loving the colours.

And here is my mystery sock from the Rock and Purl sock KAL.  The yarn is some Wollmeise that I have had for about five years. I think I might cast-on the second one tonight and stick this one on stitch holders until next week for clue 2.

Pretty wollemeise - I love the way the reds are swirling around the cuff.
